crumb artificial pitches

performance.
 The
surface is tested to the limit
with wear testing, FIFA ball
roll testing and bio-mechanical
impact testing to ensure that
the ball rolls and bounces as
you would expect at any top
international natural turf pitch.
The
pitches use a combination of
fake grass blades, sand and
rubber crumbs to provide a surface
that will perform consistently
throughout the year in all conditions.
It
is far superior to normal astroturf
with no fake grass blades which
is easy to slip on, has high
abrasions, can become dangerous
in icy conditions, and also
provides an unnatural bounce
and roll of the ball.
In
contrast, rubber-crumb turfs
provide a superb roll and bounce
much like a well-maintained
natural pitch and also reduces
abrasions. Importantly, studded
footwear can be worn on TFL's
facilities meaning an ultimate
six-a-side experience.
The pitches have been chosen
as the preferred surface for
some of the world’s most
prestigious football clubs.
Manchester
United FC and
top physical education institutions,
including Loughborough
University, have installed
these synthetic surfaces as
an integral part of their sports
facilities, which meet FIFA,
UEFA and FA
